Identification Tips:
• Barbels at the corners of the jaw,
• Dorsal fin: usually 9 or 10 rays,
• Dark irregular spots covering the back and sides.

Life History:
• Adults feed on invertebrates, primarily insects
• Juveniles feed on fly larvae and zooplankton
• Spawns in July and August
• Lives for up to 5 years
• Maximum size is approximately 10 cm in length
Habitat:
• In the Fraser Valley limited to the main stem Fraser River and its largest tributaries.
• Found in rocky pools and riffle areas, generally in slower currents than Longnose Dace
Range:
British Columbia
• Fraser Valley, Thompson River basin, Fraser River and tributaries upstream of Williams Lake, Okanagan River system, Columbia River near Castlegar and Trail
Global
• Limited to Fraser and Columbia River basins
