Sculpin Family (Cottidae)

Often called ‘Bullheads’ in British Columbia
Most species in family are found in the ocean
Typically bottom dwelling predators
Lack a swim bladder to regulate buoyancy

Identification Tips:

Large head and pectoral fins
Tapered body with slim abdomen
Two dorsal fins
No scales, but may have patches of tiny prickles (like sharkskin)
