Sculpin Family (Cottidae)
- Often called ‘Bullheads’ in British Columbia
- Most species in family are found in the ocean
- Typically bottom dwelling predators
- Lack a swim bladder to regulate buoyancy
Identification Tips:
- Large head and pectoral fins
- Tapered body with slim abdomen
- Two dorsal fins
- No scales, but may have patches of tiny prickles (like sharkskin)
